I am in the initial phases of investigating and developing a business plan for potential creation of a wind farm. I need to know if anyone would be willing to send me a copy of their contract with the power company. I want to see what is the general format for these contracts, including the typical demands/requests the power companys make. I am so early on in the process, however, that I don't yet have the ability to approach my local power companies.
If anyone is willing to send me a sample contract or point me in a direction where I might find one, I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks, and thank you all for having me here on the WFN.

Hi Tim,
Sorry I missed this post before, but I just saw your note in the community wind section. I can't send you an actual power purchase agreement (they're often confidential), but I can point you to a couple samples that would be good to look at.

1) Xcel Energy standard offer for wind projects under 2 MW in MN:
http://www.xcelenergy.com/docs/corpcomm/Me_Section_10.pdf

2) Winrock Windpower Toolkit, download it at http://www.winrock.org/what/energy.cfm. There's a lot of info in this book, including a chapter on PPAs and a sample PPA.

3) I have one more sample PPA on paper in my office that I could copy and mail or fax to you. Send me an e-mail if you're intererested.

Hope this helps!

Here's one more resource from Stoel Rives LLP that looks pretty useful for PPAs and other legal/business aspects of wind projects:
