Hello,

I am going about trying to deisgn and build my own wind turbine. I have pretty much designed everythign I need apart from the wing tips. As this is a major source of drag I was wondering what the optimum design was for wing tips.

The reynolds numbers is only about 50,000, the diameter of the turbine is 700mm and the optimum wind speed it is designed for is 8ms-1.

Thanks for posting on the Wind Farmers Network and it looks like you have done alot of work on your design. You are exactly right that the wing tip is an iumportnat part of the design. Off-hand I dont know the optimum design would be, but I have a some websites that might be helpful.
