Thanks for your post. Well, the first step is to determine if you have enough wind on your property. This preliminary determination can be made by looking at a wind resource map. The State of Iowa has put together a wind energy guide that has a stout wind resource assessment section, which may be useful: Iowa Wind Energy Manual - http://www.energy.iastate.edu/renewable/wind/wem-index.html
