A good way to start thinking about a wind farm is visiting our website, www.windustry.org, and poking around a bit.

In particular, be sure to check out the Wind Basics series, at http://windustry.org/basics/default.htm

These fact sheets will walk you through some of the basics, such as an overview of wind development, assessing your wind resource, assessing your land, deciding on a business structure, and assessing the economics of a potential project.

If you're thinking of developing a community wind project, also be sure to visit http://windustry.org/community/default.htm. There are a number of case studies of successful community wind projects there, and it can be very helpful to see what others have already done.
