Hi Chris,
Funding options for a wind farm largely depend on the business strucutre of your project; different incentives are available to different types of projects, whether you are a sinlge private owner, a group of investors, a school, muicipal utility, farm, or tribe. Here is a ling explaining more details about the funding options: http://www.windustry.org/resources/finance.htm Grants and funds available can also differ from state-to-state. Here is a link where you can locate the carious options available to you: www.dsireusa.org Combiing different grants and financial incentives can have varying impacts on eachother, so it's important to work closely wiht a tax advisor and/or attorney in planning a project. Here is some more info on incentives and their impacts: http://www.windustry.org/community/policy.htm Well,I wish I could type in one post an answer to your question on "How to make it all work," but as you may have discovered, it is truly a complex process. Developing wind can be a lucrative and beneficial effort indeed, and it is important to have a good team of experts to work with. One of the best ways you can get an grip on "what it takes" is to start attending wind energy conferences, workshops, events, and other meetings. Stay tuned into wind energy listservs and mailing lists. You can find some of these events and resources here: http://www.windustry.org/news/default.htm And remember: even with all of the funding in the world, you cannot make a wind project work wihtout a good wind resource! Be sure to check your wind resource before you move too far down the planning road. More info here: http://www.windustry.org/basics/04-knowwind.htm Thanks for the post. Sorry for the late reply. |
