This is probably much too big of a question to post a complete answer here, but I can point you in the right direction.
In March 2006, Windustry is organizing a large wind energy conference in Des Moines, Iowa that is going to do a step by step look at how to do a successful wind project (both large machines and small wind machines less than 100 kW). Stay tuned for more info: http://windfarmersnetwork.org/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/56410342/m/660009048 . Attending this conference is my best recommendation for how to get an answer to your question. Also, I suggest looking at some of the wind energy guidebooks available. We have a list compiled here: http://www.windustry.org/resources/guidebooks.htm. These books tend to take a fairly comprehensive view of how to put together a wind project. Windustry worked on the Illinois handbook listed and adapted from an older version that was written for Minnesota, so that might be a good one to start with. Good luck and let us know if we can be of more help. -Sarah |
