I'm a little confused about this, and I have not been able to find an answer anywhere. How much do they pay a typical wind farm per kwh?

Like many questions about wind energy, there isn't a quick or easy answer to this question.
When power companies purchase electricity from a wind farm, they usually negotiate a power purchase agreement, or PPA. The price paid for the electricity is part of this agreement, and varries from agreement to agreement, sometimes quite widely. Right now, I've heard numbers anywhere from 2.4 cents per kWh to 6.4 cents per kWh. Marin Marin Byrne Windustry marin@windustry.org 612-870-3469 |
