i understand there is a wind farm going up in summit south dakota (a huge one). does anybody have any information on this??

I don't have any specific information about that project, but a good place to check in general is on the AWEA web site's database of projects. ( http://www.awea.org/projects/)

Click on the state you're interested in, and you'll see a list of known projects, both completed and proposed. It's not 100% comprehensive, so just because something isn't listed doesn't mean it's not happening!
