Hi I am interested in small scale wind, like the
SW 3.7 and others. Plan to put one up when I get a few acres soon, would also like to work part time in small wind. |

Hi Joprgo!
I assume since you're posting in a thread titled "small wind interests" that you're interested in small turbines! If that's not the case, post again and I can pass along different information. At any rate, a good place to start for any wind project is trying to learn as much as you can. There are a ton of great resources out there, and the more you know the better decisions you'll make! For small wind turbines, two great resources to start with are Windustry's small wind information pages, which can be found at http://windustry.org/SmallWind/default.htm and the Wind Powering America small wind pages, which are at http://www.eere.energy.gov/windandhydro/windpoweringamerica/small_wind.asp. Take a look at these sites, and then feel free to post again if you have more questions! Marin Marin Byrne Windustry marin@windustry.org 612-870-3469 |

Hello wfn9876,
Many thanks for your interest in wind. Glad to hear you plan on putting up a turbine soon. You mentioned working part time in small wind. Opportunities for employment are certainly growing in more and new places as the industry continues to grow. Windustry’s “Work in Wind” webpage should be a useful place to begin. It lists frequently asked questions, links, and tips for transitioning into the wind energy industry. http://www.windustry.org/resources/workinwind.htm Also, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has a career page at http://www.jobtarget.com/home/index.cfm?site_id=770. Another place to look is through the sponsors and exhibitors listings on Windustry’s past conferences pages and the Wind Energy Center page from the MN State Fair. These will have lists and links of companies currently involved in various aspects of wind in Minnesota. Past Conferences: http://www.windustry.org/conferences/default.htm MN State Fair Sponsors: http://www.windustry.org/statefair/default.htm#Sponsors Best, Ingrid |
