Hello,

I am BRAND NEW to your site here.
Have been approached by a Wind Developer about siting 3MW VESTAs on our property.

As a landowner am intersted into what the "going rate" is for options and leases on a per MW per Turbine Rated Capacity basis, in other words...........what should I expect for each 3MW turbine??

Hi Pat,
Thanks for the post. The going rate for hosting wind turbines is a moving target and varies widely based on turbine size, region of the country, and price of energy. The "normal" range is around $3,000 - $4,000 per MW. Though it is certainly common to be above and below that range. 3 MW turbines aren't common yet so I haven't seen any leases with machines in that size range yet. Last year Windustry put together a paper with information about what you can expect in a wind energy compensation package, including a table with several real world examples. You can find it here:
