Hello Everyone,
I want to announce that Windustry will be holding Community Wind Energy 2006 in Des Moines, Iowa on March 7th and 8th. This is a national conference bringing agriculture and wind energy together to advance opportunities for locally-owned clean energy production and rural economic development. We will share experiences and information to harness the growing momentum for new models, new policies, and new projects. Visit http://www.windustry.org/conferences/march2006/register.htm to register today. The early registration deadline is February 24, 2006. This year we will pay special attention to home and farm sized wind turbines, typically under 100 kW in size. This will be a great opportunity to gain practical knowledge about how to create a successful small wind turbine project. Day 1 will walk attendees through planning a small wind turbine project include: understanding your wind resource; factors in choosing a wind turbine; tower and other equipment; choosing an installer; net metering; and operations and maintenance of your turbine throughout it's life time. Day 2 will focus on practical economics for smaller wind turbines as well as public policy and incentives that support small wind turbines, and working with your utility to interconnect your turbine. Details: March 7-8th Des Moines, Iowa Iowa Events Center Check out the conference agenda at: http://www.windustry.org/conferences/march2006/program.htm Feel free to contact myself or any one of Windustry's staff for more information about the conference. |
