I am working preliminary designs for a turbine that can be used for small residential use in the city where such practices may prohibit certain height pole mounted turbines. I have yet to find a power plant (alternator) that is currently in production that will work at low wind speeds and may be immune to high heat conditions as in the Southwestern United States that I can use for my test subject. I was wondering if you could be kind enough to direct me or have any ideas of any manufacturers I can contact that may have a power plant I can try in my design?

Considering that the majority of the human race lives in a metro area, that is a pretty good idea. I wander why they don´t place turbines on top of high-rises. There certainly aren´t any obstructions to get in the way.
