Vestas, after merging/buying Micon, decided to drastically change the 5 year warranty and operations price. Micon used to make a big point that their machine had much lower operating costs than the Vestas (or GE) full variable pitch machines sold in the US. Now that Vestas has its name on the NM82, you must pay roughly $31,000 per year for full service (maintenance and warranty) compare that to the previous price of approximately $23,000 per year and you'll see why this price change can turn heads. Seems mergers are not good for the buyer on this issue.
