While doing research for the material to build our rotor. It has come to my attention that the Firberglass have a very short life time before it start the process to deteritate itseff (10 years?). The Chemical bonding start to loose its strength then it will become briddle or worst case falling apart (the same way you have seen in old house insulation).
- My question is: Is fiberglass Turbine an exception?. and
- Is That the reason that why the turbine are usually decommissioned after 10 years?.

Anyone help?

I'm not sure why windmill blades deteritate, I'm new to the field. I work in the aircraft industry 25years, 15 years composites, (flaps, wing panels ext.) our fiberglass does not deteritate unless it's exposed to the elements mostly water. I would look into the type of resin you will be using and keep a good coat of flexable paint on the surfaces and put a teflon coat or some other tough coating on the leading edge.
