The Plains Organization for Wind Energy Resources has steadily been collecting wind data from Great Plains and Midwest states. POWER's online database now has data from more than 200 sites in 12 states, including Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
